July- You can tell I'm home when I am not posting

We made it to the beach and my parents house in VA so that is why I haven't been blogging. Hopefully most of you have kept up with the pictures on facebook that I have been posting from my iphone. This blogging thing is not going to improve sadly because Jason just flew back to Austin with my memory stick. BUT in a few weeks I will be regaling you with stories of the beach, old friends, Washington DC and beyond!

The 4th of July and beyond!

This 4th of July felt kind of last minute 'cause we were still so busy unpacking the house. But since we are in Texas we managed to get a trunk full of fireworks. I did my part by making hotdogs, potato salad, and red white and blue jello. We got to enjoy our huge front yard while Daddy set off the fireworks in the driveway. We weren't the only ones, stuff was going off everywhere and we had a great view. We love our house!
Nice Grass 'Stash Kat!
Here is just a taste of what is like when Jason finishes a room of the house. Isn't Kat a lucky girl?
By the time we got to the 13th we (me and the kids) were excited to get in the car and start our trip. Here we are in Waco Texas at the Dr. Pepper museum. The best part is we got original recipe Dr. Pepper to share with our family. By Monday night we got to Oklahoma and got to see our old the Smiths. We hadn't seen them since we moved away in 2009. I feel like we have lived a lifetime since then but as soon as we sat down and started chatting it felt like we had never left. Except now we had 5 kids between us!
On Tuesday we drove to where we used to live. Here is the house Adam learned to walk in:

And the house Kat was a baby in right before we moved to Luxembourg:
The rest of the time we just hung out at Zack and Kasey's house, which is a beautiful place in the country. Here is Zack showing off his muscles and his chicken!
Kasey made pizza dough from scratch and here are the kids putting the toppings on. Her kids are Max and Corbin and they are 5 and nearly 3.
Wednesday morning we were off again and got to check out a few roadside attractions. Can you tell it's 100 degrees and the kids are less then enthusiastic?

This is the McDonalds that spans I-44. It used to be the biggest. Now it is just the hottest. There was no AC in there! We finally crossed over into Missouri and made it to Lebanon. We don't know anyone in this State so we just are crashing at a Super 8. Of course we had to hit the Waffle House! It is the kids favorite place to eat on the road. I don't know why, I feel like I had a glass of grease for dinner!
I can't wait to get to another normal house tomorrow- My cousins in Kentucky! Stay tuned!
